§ 04.1 — Commitment
The Boundary CLI is free forever
Installing CodeTruss Boundary, running its analyzers on your machine, and producing signed receipts cost nothing, and they always will. No seat count, no trial clock, no feature that quietly stops working. Your source code never leaves your machine on a local run.
What the plans above pay for is the hosted side: syncing receipts into an account so they outlive the session, working through them with other people, and the codebase Health audits.
And if you were already syncing receipts before we started charging for it, you keep it free permanently. Taking away something people already depend on is not a pricing change, it is a broken promise, so we do not do it.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a seat?
One person with standing access to your billing account — a member of your organization, or someone holding an unexpired invitation. Each person counts once even if they appear in several client workspaces, and an invitation you have not sent, or one that has expired, is not billed. You buy seats in Stripe and can add or remove them from the billing portal.
What counts as a scan?
One full audit of one repository: indexing, all analyzers, scores, architecture map, AI report, and fix plan. Re-scans count as new scans.
What are AI credits?
One credit is one cent of platform-managed AI spend, and every plan publishes its monthly ceiling on the card above. When you hit it, AI narratives stop until the next period — the deterministic analysis, scores, and findings keep running, because none of them use AI. On Pro and above you can bring your own Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or OpenRouter key and the cap no longer applies to you, since that spend is in your own account.
Is the CLI really free forever?
Yes. Installing CodeTruss Boundary, running its analyzers locally, and producing signed receipts cost nothing and always will. What the paid plans cover is the hosted side: syncing receipts to an account, reviewing them as a team, and the codebase Health audits. If you were already syncing receipts before we priced it, you keep that free permanently — we do not claw back a capability people are already relying on.
Is my code stored on your servers?
Repositories are downloaded into ephemeral workspaces for analysis and deleted when the scan finishes. Only file metadata (paths, sizes, languages), findings, and architecture facts are persisted — never your source code. One exception, clearly opt-in: when you approve an automated fix, the affected files (max 4) are sent to your configured AI provider to generate the change. Use your own provider keys (Pro+) to keep that traffic in your own account.
What does the Agency plan add?
Client workspaces — a separate organization per client, with its own repositories and members — plus white-label report exports with your branding, client-ready deck exports, programmatic API access, and priority in the job queue. Fifteen client workspaces are included; beyond that they are $10 per client workspace per month, so the bill tracks your book of clients rather than your repository count.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — billing is through Stripe and you can cancel from the billing portal. Your plan stays active until the end of the paid period.
